How do I creat a nonprofit organization?

I want to create a nonprofit organization. I love the environment, law, the idea of helping third world countries, Neglected Tropical Diseases, and all that good stuff. Thing is, I know I would have to stick to one idea. I really would not know how to start a nonprofit. I don't know anything. I would need full blown details on how to run an organization. I need help. Major help. Can I pay workers? Or what? How do I spread the word? Like I said, I need MAJOR HELP. Please anyone help me. I really want to make this work.
